How to use Chinnus Masala Tamarind Rice Mix?

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind rice mix
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram)
  • 1 teaspoon chana dal (split chickpeas)
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add urad dal and chana dal, and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add turmeric powder, asafoetida, and curry leaves to the pan. Sauté for a few seconds to release their flavors.
  4. Add the tamarind rice mix to the pan and mix well with the tempering ingredients.
  5. Add the cooked rice to the pan and gently combine it with the tamarind rice mix and tempering.
  6. Stir in the roasted peanuts and season with salt to taste. Mix everything well until the rice is evenly coated with the tamarind mixture.
